Unpaid Taxes

If you have not been able to pay your tax liabilities, don’t be embarrassed! It’s more common than you think! And, we can help you.

First, we contact the agency assessing the tax (it could be Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department, or Board of Equalization) and determine the amount that you owe. Then, we come up with a comprehensive plan to address that liability. We can request an installment agreement, filing for Offer-In-Compromise, or suspending collection activities on you account due to financial hardship. The good news is that there are options available for you.

And we can help you choose the right one!

Unfiled Returns

Whether it’s last year’s tax returns or the returns that needed to be filed 10 or 20 years ago (yes, we did have a few clients who needed to file the returns for tax year 1990…) – we can help you file them! We brainstorm with you on various ways to collect the information necessary for filing of the returns. We prepare them and submit them to the required authorities. We know that there is always a way to get things right and we can help you get there.

Tax Preparation and Planning

We prepare all types of individual and business tax returns. What is different about our process?

Two things:

1) Being proactive when you need to get things done – we contact you, remind you, make sure that you have the necessary guidance to provide us with the documents and records we need to prepare your individual or business tax returns.

2) Preparing your returns as if they will be audited. You will know where each number on the return came from. We put all the documents together and have them available in PDF format and in hard copy. So, if you ever get the letter from the IRS questioning the returns we prepared, you are ready! All you have to do is to pull up the PDF file with the documents on your computer, print out what’s necessary to explain the numbers they are questioning on the return, and send it off to the IRS.

We also review your books and records and fix any mistakes we find, so not only your taxes are in order, your bookkeeping is cleaned-up as well.

And when it comes to tax planning, we, once again, take a proactive approach. We consistently identify key tax planning opportunities that can minimize both your current and future tax liabilities and help you put these plans in action throughout the year. We stay current on changing tax laws and legislation so you don’t have to. In fact, our engagements are specifically structured around providing the flexibility to meet with you regularly so we can stay on top of your evolving businesses. We always want our advice to be proactive and on-point.
